Captain Kramer was a Robotech Defense Force pilot and a member of Skull Squadron at the start of the First Robotech War. After repulsing the Zentraedi's initial attack from Sector 412, Commander Roy Fokker ordered him to take control of the VF-1 Valkyrie squadron and lead them back to the CVS-101 Prometheus. (Macross Saga: "Countdown")
In a reverted timeline caused by the Omega Comet, the SDF-1 was caught up in a Space Fold and sent to Arus. Kramer was left as one of the senior pilots. He took his VF-1S, white with green trim, on a patrol and reported back to the SDF-1 that there was no sign of the enemy that had attacked them. Later, the Drule sent Robeasts to attack the vessel. The captain was then ordered to act as a decoy for one of them as it approached the bridge. With the help of the White Lion, the attack was repulsed and the Omega Comet effect was neutralized, returning everyone to their proper place. (Robotech-Voltron)

Behind the scenes
In the novels, he was killed shortly before Roy Fokker, although his fate in the main series is uncertain.
He shares a name with Steve Kramer, Robotech's story editor.
