Mount Fuji was a mountain outside Japan on the planet Earth. When flying into Yokohama, Japan, Lynn Minmei and Rick Hunter passed the mountains. As Minmei had been asleep for sometime, it was the first thing that she saw of the country. (Macross Saga: "Homecoming")
