Collins was a soldier on ALUCE-II during the start of the Third Robotech War. His comrade Pittrone was jealous of Lancer's closeness to Bekka Cade and mocked Lancer's looks before taking a swing at him. He was easily countered and defeated by Lancer. Collins who aided him was pinned by Bekka and both went off to lick their wounds (Robotech: Invid War: Moon Walkers).
When the Zentraedi hacked into the system to gain the codes to the Alpha's, the failsafe caused the system to think area 1-5 were destroyed and shut off airflow to them as well as shutting the elevators and Collins mocked Lancer's attempts at getting them to work. Lt. Baxton used a handheld communicator to speak to Desmond Nobutu who told them to go to the lower levels to fix it. While there, they encountered Themarris Klaasti who said Nobutu is dead and they thought there was an Invid attack. Collins was going to end it with a gunfight but Lancer held him back, much to his anger. When a Soldier in a Cyclone armor came in, Themarris and her men thought it was a Micronian trap and a gunfight broke out, with Collins taking out 1 soldier with his firearm. (Robotech: Invid War: Warrior Born).
After the Zentraedi on the base had an uprising to steal the Alpha Fighter to fight the Invid, the soldiers on the base were concerned about them and Collins said he wished they had taken out more in the uprising, as well as distrusting the Robotech Masters on the base like Remes, which was supported by some but not Lancer who slugged Collins for it. Collins tells Russell not to fight back as if the MP's catch them fighting they'd be cut from the mission. Lancer defended Remes but Collins insulted them and Lancer left. (Robotech: Invid War: Leap in the Dark).
